Surveys

For more information about CHRT’s survey capabilities and services, contact Melissa Riba, director of research and evaluation, at 734-998-7555 or ribameli@umich.edu.

CHRT conducts two statewide surveys that tap into important perspectives on health and health care in our state:

  • CHRT’s Michigan Physician Survey explores the perspective of one of the most important stakeholder groups in health care: primary care providers. Michigan physicians are asked to describe their patient and practice characteristics, to indicate their capacity for taking on new patients, and to provide their views on electronic health records, barriers to patient care, recent policy changes, and other timely topics.
  • CHRT’s Cover Michigan Survey explores health, health insurance, and health care access trends across Michigan. Launched in 2009 to better understand the likely impact of the Affordable Care Act on the state of Michigan and its citizens, the survey continues to reveal important trends about health status, health care coverage, and access to health care across populations.

In addition to these biennial surveys, CHRT also addresses client needs.

CHRT staff members–who hold degrees in health administration, public health, public policy, sociology, social work, learning health sciences, and related areas–have deep expertise in survey methodology, instrument design, and analysis. We work collaboratively with stakeholders and clients to tailor survey questions and analytical approaches to ensure that they answer specific policy questions and address pressing concerns.
