Fellowships

The CHRT Health Policy Fellowship is a two-year program designed to provide an exceptional foundation for a career in health policy analysis, research and leadership. The CHRT Fellowship offers opportunities to work closely with leaders in health policy and research, and is structured to ensure that fellows understand, in a hands-on environment, how to contribute to health policy. Fellows will have the opportunity to help implement key state wide and community health initiatives, design and communicate issue briefs, policy papers and analyses of critical policy issues. At the beginning of the fellowship, the fellow meets with the CHRT director and lead staff to discuss goals, interests and potential project work. The fellow will pursue a variety of analytical and leadership development opportunities in a framework of continuous learning. The fellow works closely with CHRT leadership, staff and board members.

Requirements:

  • Strong candidates will be highly motivated, have a graduate degree in health care (e.g. MHSA, MPH, MSW, MPA, MPP) or a related degree with a focus on health policy, have excellent writing and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Candidates must have strong analytical skills, facility with Excel and/or other statistical software, demonstrated project management skills and experience using analysis to inform policy recommendations.

As the fellowship is designed for people early in their career (i.e., within five years of their graduate degree), candidates with related work experience are encouraged to apply, however extensive work experience is not a prerequisite to the fellowship.
