Emily Schwarzkopf

Policy Analyst , Michigan House Democratic Caucus

Emily Schwarzkopf is a Policy Analyst for the Michigan House of Representatives Democratic Policy Office advising Democratic members on issues before the Health Policy, Military and Veterans Affairs, and Michigan Competitiveness committees. She also covers the House Appropriations subcommittee on the Department of Community Health. In addition to specific committee assignments, Schwarzkopf covers issues relating to medical marijuana, women’s health, mental health, and the Affordable Care Act. Prior to her work with the House Democrats, Schwarzkopf was the Membership Engagement Coordinator at the Small Business Association of Michigan and spent her college years working for the Department of Community Health in the office of the Legislative Liaison.

Schwarzkopf is a 2011 graduate of Central Michigan University, where she majored in Political Science. Her political volunteer work includes many local and statewide campaigns, including as an intern for a Democratic gubernatorial candidate.
