CHRT Project: Cardiology

Encouraging Appropriate and Judicious Use of Cardiac Services for Patients with Stable Coronary Artery Disease

Care Delivery and Financing System

For patients with stable coronary artery disease, improve quality of care and achieve healthcare cost savings by increasing patient involvement in treatment decision-making and reducing variation in diagnostic and therapeutic services: including non-invasive imaging, non-invasive functional tests, coronary diagnostic catheterization, and coronary revascularization (CABG/PCI).

Goals

The objectives of the study are to:

  • Increase patient knowledge about treatment options for their condition.
  • Increase patient involvement in treatment decision making.
  • Reduce rates of non-invasive imaging, non-invasive functional tests, coronary diagnostic catheterization, and coronary revascularization (CABG/PCI).
